Hiking trails on the National Land Survey topographic map

Trails come from the Lipas register, the database of sports and outdoor facilities maintained by municipalities and Metsähallitus: marked hiking trails, nature trails and trekking routes across Finland. The base map is the National Land Survey topographic map. Trails can be filtered by length, and the trail card shows length, elevation profile, surface and lighting where Lipas knows them.

Trail weather: the weakest section decides

Trail weather computes the Finnish Meteorological Institute forecast hour by hour for every section and rates the whole trail by its weakest part. You see before leaving when the driest and calmest window of the day is.

Lean-tos, huts and water along the trail

The trail card lists services along the route with distances: lean-tos, fire sites, wilderness huts, bookable huts and drinking water, from Metsähallitus and OpenStreetMap open data. Save the map area offline before you go; trail weather and forecasts need a connection.
