Finland's national landscape above Lake Pielinen: hiking trails in summer, ski tracks and slopes in winter.

Koli

From Ukko-Koli to the Herajärvi loop

The summit of Ukko-Koli is Finland's best-known view, reached from the nature centre by a short path. The longer trails are the Herajärvi loops of about 30 and 60 kilometres and the day routes between the hills. The elevation differences are among the largest in southern and eastern Finland, so Eräkaveri's elevation profile is genuinely useful here.

Ski tracks and conditions on the hills

Koli's track network runs along the hillsides and the shores of Pielinen and is in the Lipas register. Skiing conditions are computed from the weather: on the summit temperature and wind differ from the shore. The app does not know when a track was last groomed, and says so.

Pielinen: depth contours and zander

Pielinen is a large lake with Traficom-charted fairways, so depth contours and the Best spots layer are available on the fairway areas. Zander and pike are the main catch. Depth data is for planning fishing, not for navigation.
