Ski tracks at Ylläs and Pallas
The Ylläs–Levi track network is among Finland's largest, hundreds of kilometres between the fells, and at Pallas the tracks head straight out onto the fell. The season runs from October's first snow to May's crust. Eräkaveri shows the tracks from Lipas and computes conditions from the weather: a sunny morning can turn into a windy return across open fell.
Hetta–Pallas and day trails
Hetta–Pallas is Finland's oldest marked trekking route, about 55 kilometres over the fells along a chain of open and bookable huts. Trail weather computes the forecast for every section and rates the whole route by its weakest, which here means the fell tops.
Fell lakes
Pallasjärvi and the area's fell lakes are Metsähallitus permit areas. Lakes without fairways have no depth contours, but the bite forecast and water temperature work. Grayling and brown trout are the local species; closed seasons are always checked.
