Mushroom season: where to look for chanterelle and porcini
September is Finland's mushroom month. Chanterelle carries on from summer until the October frosts; porcini peak in August and September. The crop depends on rain and warmth.

Habitats from forest data
Chanterelle likes light mixed forest with birch and spruce; porcini prefers dryish heath forest under pine and spruce. The app reads Finnish Forest Centre open data and shades the areas that meet the species' requirements. It tells you what the forest is like, not whether mushrooms are there today.
Your own harvest log
Finds are saved in your own harvest log and only you can see them unless you choose to share one. Others then see the species, date, amount and a location accurate to about 100 m, never your name.
What the app does not do
Eräkaveri does not identify mushrooms. If in doubt, leave it in the forest.
