Berry spots on the map
Bilberry likes fresh heath forest, lingonberry drier heaths and cloudberry open mires. Eräkaveri colours the map by how well the areas suit the chosen berry.

How to find berry spots
- Choose a species: bilberry, lingonberry, cloudberry
- Habitat estimate from Finnish Forest Centre data
- Picking conditions and ripeness
- Private harvest log
An estimate, not a promise
Yields vary from year to year with frost, drought and pollination.
Berry season by species
Cloudberry ripens first, on southern mires in mid-July and in Lapland in early August. Bilberry follows from late July to late August, and lingonberry is best in September. A north slope and a shady spruce stand run a week or two behind a south slope.
Frequently asked questions
Can others see my berry spots?
Not unless you share a find. A shared find shows the species, date, amount and a location accurate to about 100 m, without your name.
