Saimaa
Europe's fourth-largest lake: endless islands, pike and zander waters, and the Saimaa ringed seal.
Finnish Lakeland

Depth contours across the whole fairway network
Saimaa has Finland's largest inland fairway network, and Traficom depth data covers the open waters with fairways from Lappeenranta to Kuopio and Joensuu. Depth contours and the Best spots layer are therefore at their best here: basin edges at 4–12 m for zander, reed edges for pike, rocky shoals for perch. Depth data is for planning fishing, not for navigation.
The ringed seal and net-fishing restrictions
Around Saimaa ringed seal breeding areas there are spring net-fishing bans and year-round gear restrictions; they appear in the restrictions layer from kalastusrajoitus.fi. Lure fishing is usually unaffected, but check the area and dates on the map.
Linnansaari, Kolovesi and birds
Linnansaari and Kolovesi national parks are reached by boat or canoe; marked paths and fire sites appear in the hiking mode. Black-throated divers and ospreys appear in the birds mode as recent sightings.
